Happy Frenchie Friday

Hey all, happy Frenchie Friday! Hope you all had an amazing start to the New Year. January 1st is special to us as it’s our first son’s birthday. He turned 8 this year.

He and his daddy combined a birthday present and one of dad’s Christmas presents into one and got a boat of sushi. This is a big deal because I am too cheap to do this. LOL! But it was worth it this time as they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Tytan was celebrated well throughout the day. There’s even a Frenchie in this pic and I’m sure they got a few cake crumbles.

It’s been cold and the Frenchies have enjoyed warming their ears up by the fireplace.

While some like Grootsie here enjoy romping around in the snow and snooping at what’s going on around him. He really is a funny little guy and one I’ve loved hanging out with and enjoy his quirky little personality. Autumn, nest to Groot, gets to go live with my cousin and his wife. They come next week to visit and take her and Aspen home to join their family. Groot is available.

And then there’s this one. They look like little blonde haired blue eyed models.

Diego has been enjoying helping us play Sleeping Queens which is quite a fun game that also helps with addition skills.

He also got new pics taken this week. Look how handsome he looks in his pink bow tie.

Conrad loves sitting next to me on the couch while I work. He’s such a chill little guy. Just reduced his price and no there is nothing wrong with him. He’s a great little guy. Daddy is 5-panel clear for health genetics. This color just happens to be not as popular. Any version of lilac fawn is one of my favorite colors so I don’t get it. I think he’s cute! 🙂

This pic was just taken today. Look at these little cutie pies! They are all boys and will be ready right around Valentine’s Day. Two are blues, one blue brindle, and one blue fawn. Such cuties. Joy is a black merle with one blue eye. Merle effects eye color as well and they can have speckles of blue or a full blue eye. How unique is she!?! Her page will be up this coming week. If you’re interested in her, you’ll have to text me for a few additional pics. 🙂

How did my pawrents make a Fawn Merle Frenchie?

My daddy Ol’Boy (20lbs) is a black merle. My momma is a brindle (25lbs). Together they made me a fawn merle Frenchie.

Black Merle French Bulldog Female Coloring

Black Merle French Bulldogs must have two copies of the ky (allowing) gene on the K locus to allow for the solid black color and have one copy of the merle gene. Black Frenchies typically have brown puppy dog eyes but the merle pattern may also affect the eye color and you will sometimes see splotches or the whole eye as blue.

We do have opportunities to meet you part way or in your city such as in Santa Fe, Denver, Grand Junction, etc… for an additional fee.

We can arrange for your pup to be accompanied by a flight nanny as well to major airports. Please note pups must be 12 weeks old for this option and flight must be paid ahead of time.

Lilac & Merle French Bulldog Coloring

Lilac and Merle French Bulldogs must have two copies of the chocolate gene and blue genes to make lilac. If they are merle they must have one copy of the merle gene. Lilac Frenchies have light eyes. They are often blue as pups and turn a pretty yellowish green as they age. If they are merle, the pattern also affects eyes and their complete eye(s) or speckles of it may remain blue as an adult.

How did my pawrents make a Fawn Frenchie?

My daddy Doc (25lbs) is a chocolate merle. Layla our momma is a chocolate fawn (25lbs). Together they made me!

Brindle French Bulldog Male Coloring

Two sets of genes can be inherited at this location known as Ky and Kbr. The Kbr gene is known as the brindle gene and is dominant over Ky. If they inherit one or two brindle genes Kbr then they will express brindling. But there is an exception….of course. We will see this exception on the a locus. Make sure to learn about brindles here. The Ky gene is known as the allowing gene. This means when two ky alleles are inherited it allows the A, D, and B locuses to determined the coat color of the Frenchie. Kbr interferes with these colors and you will see the brindling in them as well. You can think two ky alleles (ky,ky) produces solid pups and one or two brindle genes will add the brindling. Typically when someone says brindle they are referring to black brindle as we will for this article. But be aware that many of the other colors can have brindling in their coat such as lilac and blue.

Lilac and Tan Points French Bulldog Female Coloring

Lilac and tan French Bulldogs must have two copies of the chocolate gene and blue genes to make lilac. Lilac Frenchies have light eyes. They are often blue as pups and turn a pretty yellowish green as they age. If they are merle, the pattern also affects eyes and their complete eye(s) or speckles of it may remain blue as an adult.
