Lilac and Tan French Bulldog Male Coloring

Lilac and tan French Bulldogs must have two copies of the chocolate gene and blue genes to make lilac. Lilac Frenchies have light eyes. They are often blue as pups and turn a pretty yellowish green as they age. If they are merle, the pattern also affects eyes and their complete eye(s) or speckles of it may remain blue as an adult.

My daddy Nacho (26lbs) is a platinum lilac carrying testable chocolate. This means we have a 50% chance to carry testable chocolate as well. Lilac and tan French Bulldogs must have two copies of the chocolate gene and blue genes to make lilac. If they are merle they must have one copy of the merle gene. Lilac Frenchies have light eyes. They are often blue as pups and turn a pretty yellowish green as they age. If they are merle, the pattern also affects eyes and their complete eye(s) or speckles of it may remain blue as an adult.

Cream Male French Bulldog Color

Cream French Bulldogs are a standard color. There is variation in the intensity of the color of cream. When pups are born we often call them cream but it is difficult to tell if they are a true cream initially. True creams develop black pigment around the eyes and have a black nose. Sometimes we have cream pied and some may actually be white or a light fawn. All are beautiful!

For the lilac fawn color to be expressed the pup must carry two copies of the blue gene (d/d), two copies of the untestable chocolate gene (co/co), a copy of the fawn gene (ay/ay) from the A locus, and no brinding on the K locus (ky/ky). I know it sounds like a lot of science. That’s what makes them so rare.
